Who is Tom Borrow?

Tom Borrow is a 22-year-old Israeli pianist. Born in 2000 in Tel Aviv, he began studying piano at the age of five. Tom currently studies at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, and is mentored by Murray Perahia through the Jerusalem Music Centre’s program for outstanding young musicians. In January 2019, Tom was called on to replace renowned pianist Khatia Buniatishvili in a series of 12 concerts with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. With only 36 hours' notice, he performed Ravel's Piano Concerto in G to public and critical acclaim. Since then, his career has gone up and up, and he was recently named a BBC New Generation Artist for 2021-23, earning him engagements at Wigmore Hall and appearances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The VRS is so excited to welcome Tom to our stage for his Canadian debut!
